The business is founded by Ian Smith

1982

The company joins the N.I.C.E.I.C. enabling the company to tender for local authority work.

1983

There are now 4 employees.

1984

Andy Greaves joins the company from W.T. Parker's, enabling the industrial section to be expanded.

1986

The business becomes a limited company and the swimming pool division is established.

1989

Due to expansion the company moves to new premises, Unit 4 Winterbeck industrial estate. The company now has a staff of 12 members.

1994

With further expansion and success the company purchases new premises, a 2,500 sq. ft industrial unit at Devon Park Industrial Estate.

1997

Andy Greaves appointed director.

1998

Keith Bedford joins the company from Adam International as contracts manager due to increased demand of larger contracts.

1999

Chris Mawby joins the company to assist with the rapidly expanding PEMP contract.

2000

A further 3 offices are added, due to increased office staff. The company now employees over 50 people.

2000

A new £1.3 millon contract is signed to install security & card access systems.

2000

Major contract started with BT, Intruder Alarm and Access Division setup.

2000

Paul Wing joins the company from Powergen to assist the electrical contracting division with increasing demand.

2001

In house IT Manager, Ben Stroud is taken on to setup and maintain ICT and communications systems, and oversee structured cabling projects.

2001

Managing Director, Mr Ian Smith wins Grantham Journal "Business-Person of the Year Award"

2001

Chris Mawby takes over management of PEMP department.

2002

New 'Computers' department created to install, supply & maintain computers and networks for home users and small to medium size businesses.

2003

Computers department continues to expand, taking on more staff to cope with increasing demand.

2004

Purchase of land to build new offices and workshop.

2005

Plans for new offices and workshop produced.

2005

ISE are awarded a contract to install 21 Century Switch infrastructure and ironworks.

2005

We start the first installations of the new 21CN equipment in the South Wales area, creating our new ’Ironworks’ department managed by Andy Greaves..

2006

The new ‘Ironworks’ department quickly expands to meet the strict demands of our clients, including appointment of supervisors for OBASS, Darren Auckland and Ironworks, Ben Thompson.

2006

We complete large electrical projects including a state of the art crematorium and medical centre, and part of on going local authority works.

2007-8

ISE continue to thrive in all areas with PEMP & 21CN Ironwork installations taking place throughout the UK. The electrical contracting division continues to undertake exciting new projects including detailed aspects of design using AutoCAD and AMTECH design software.

2008

ISE move into purpose built new offices and workshops.
